With 38 years of dedicated federal service in national security and law enforcement, Roy is serious about public safety. He brings a mission-first approach to Raleigh—not partisan games. He will deliver a responsible state budget that prioritizes comphrensive public safety, protects our working waterfronts, uplifts our farmers, expands rural healthcare, delivers economic growth to Eastern North Carolina, and ensures government is transparent and accountable to the people it serves.

As a father of three who raised a family on a middle-class budget, Roy understands the pressures Eastern North Carolina parents are facing today. He will fight to lower the costs that hit families hardest by expanding access to affordable childcare, nutritious food, and critical physical and mental health resources. His priority is ensuring every child in our district has a healthy foundation to succeed and that working families have the economic security they need to thrive.

Protect NC Public Schools, Support our Educators, and Invest in our Children
As a father and public school graduate, Roy believes our tax dollars belong in our local classrooms not being funneled into private school vouchers that benefit urban centers at the expense of rural districts. He will fight for competitive teacher pay and ensure that public schools in every county, from Warren to Carteret, remain the heart of our communities.

Every North Carolinian deserves access to high-quality, affordable healthcare, regardless of their zip code. Roy is committed to supporting Medicaid expansion to close the coverage gap and ensuring our rural communities have the resources they need by increasing funding for local health centers and medical personnel. Roy believes we can create more accessible care options, including readily avaliable maternal and newborn services, so that every family has the support they need to thrive. We must work together to ensure that healthcare is reliable reality for everyone in our region.
